I have to say, I'm a little skeptical of this idea. As someone who takes pool maintenance very seriously, the thought of introducing all sorts of foreign plants and animals into my pool cover just seems like a recipe for disaster. Plus, I don't trust that it would really be self-maintaining - I'd be worried about algae growth and all sorts of other issues. I think I'll stick to my tried and true mesh pool cover, thank you very much.
