The Rich Man's Dilemma: When Climate Change Takes Away His Options

When a wealthy businessman walks into the finest restaurant in town, he expects to have an array of choices. He confidently orders the soup of the day, only to be met with a perplexed expression from the waiter. 'Um, no soup of the day, due to climate change the ingredients to make soup are no longer available,' the waiter responds. As the reality of the situation sets in, the patron is presented with two options: a cup of sand or a cup of seawater.

This is the world we live in when climate change (#ad) has reached its end. We have become so accustomed to convenience and excess that we cannot fathom a world without them. However, as climate change takes away these luxuries, we are left with the harsh reality of what is left.

The patron stares in disbelief, unable to comprehend the situation. He has never had to make such a decision in his life. The waiter remains unfazed by the patron's shock and continues to offer the two options. 'Which would you like sir? Sand or seawater?'

It's a sad sight, really, when a rich man can no longer order what he pleases. Climate change has taken away his options, leaving him with nothing but a cup of sand or a cup of seawater.

As the patron is left to ponder his decision, it is a reminder to us all that climate change affects us all, no matter how wealthy we are. We must take a stand and do what we can to reduce the effects of climate change, so that no one has to make the same difficult decision that the wealthy patron had to make.
